What is iodine?
It is a very vital mineral for living which we take into our body with food and water.

Why is iodine important?
Iodine, seen as in the diagram is essential in the making of substances we call hormones which are formed in the thyroid glands and which enable the growth of our body, the work of our brain and nervous system, our activities and our body temperature. The lack of iodine can lead to thyroid insufficiencies.
